About the Item

This rare tripod sling chair from the 1970s is a striking example of architectural minimalism and refined craftsmanship. Constructed entirely from solid pine wood, the frame features one tall rear leg and two shorter front legs, connected solely through tension and traditional wooden joinery—no metal fasteners involved. The seat is composed of a newly crafted canvas sling, faithfully reproduced to the original dimensions and secured with carved wooden pins. A circular cushion, also recreated to match the original specifications, provides added comfort while preserving the chair’s authentic spirit. Reminiscent of Japanese joinery and elemental design philosophy, every component of this chair serves a structural purpose while contributing to its sculptural presence. The natural grain of the pine adds warmth and character, making it a standout piece in any modern, rustic, or eclectic interior. Dimensions Overall height: 90 cm (35.4 in) Width: 83 cm (32.7 in) Depth: 85 cm (33.5 in) Seat height: 30 cm (11.8 in) A rare collectible that merges 1970s design with timeless construction—ideal for discerning collectors and lovers of honest materials and bold silhouettes.
