About the Item
Wonderful rocking chair in solid oakwood by Danish Cabinetmaker Hans Dau (1871-1956). Original embroidered fabric upholstery the seat.
Hans Dau was a renowned master carpenter who had his own workshop in the town of Ribe in Jutland in the first half of the 20th century. Among his best-known works are the interior for Ribe Cathedral and the "Dau-chair", which became his most well known design. All the furniture he made was executed by hand in his own workshop in Ribe.
