About the Item

Rocking Chair And Its Footrest, Beech, Spirit "Thonet" 1900 Curved Beech Rocking Chair, attributed to the famous cabinetmaker Mickael Thonet (1796-1871), and offers the unusual advantage with his Retractable Footrest. The back and seat, with rounded lines, are covered with a Cannage craft in perfect condition. Pablo Picasso posed for photos on it many times. It is the prototype of an entire line of chairs that have become the most popular seating furniture in the world. Harmoniously designed and made of beech wood, roundings, bends and snails are synonymous with the refined craftsmanship of bentwood furniture production. The characteristic backrest decorated with wooden swirls and woven mesh, and above all - the comfort of the contoured seat - make this rocking chair a desirable element of any interior.
