About the Item

A Victorian parlor chair in walnut, circa 1840. The tulip shaped back is carved on the crest rail with simple scrolls framed with acanthus, supported with two turned spindles. A woven rush seat sits on elaborately turned tapered saber legs, supported with a double box stretcher, also turned in front.
