This is a pair of antique side chairs. A superb quality French, painted solid walnut hall or occasional seat, dating to the mid Victorian period, circa 1850. Appealing, solid antique chairs with fascinating details Displaying a desirable aged patina throughout Original painted frame with a lightly weathered finish Drop-in seats would benefit from re-webbing and a new cover Elaborate seat backs, profuse with relief carved details Arched top rail terminates in scrolled 'ears' and adorned with acanthus leaf and feather detail Cushions with green velour upholstery sit upon a tiered apron Raised upon front cabriole legs with pad feet, decorated to the knee - gently splayed rear legs This is a charming pair of antique side chairs, with a decorative finish throughout. Ideally suited for reupholstering to taste, or enjoyed as they are. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
