Sculptural Armchair in Pine -and Plywood by Eberhard Muéller, Germany 1980s

About the Item

Designed by German architect Eberhard Muéller, this wooden chair exemplifies his fusion of function and form. Known for integrating modernist principles into everyday objects, Müller uses natural materials to create both practical and sculptural designs. Design The chair is primarily constructed from pine wood, with a sleek, upright frame and fluid, organic lines. Its extended backrest curves gently at the top, while the armrests bend inwards, enhancing the flowing design. A striking circular element at head height, possibly intended for an easy way off moving the chair around, adds an artistic touch. The seating area is made from plywood, subtly curved for comfort yet maintaining the clean, geometric look. Although there are some ornaments to be seen for instance on the armrests. Müller’s design reflects an architectural approach to furniture, balancing bold shapes with the warmth of wood. The chair stands out as both a functional piece and a statement of design, combining modernity and craftsmanship in a distinctive way. Condition The condition of the chair is very good.

Elegant Dining- or Side Chair in Teak and Wicker, Italy 1970s
Located in Hellouw, NL
An extremely elegant and stylish look is what mainly characterizes this chair. Design The teak frame is made up of six parts that all contribute to the allure of this dining room chair. Pointed front legs continue to the backrest and consist of one whole. The beautiful mortise and tenon connection with the back legs takes place just above the height of the seat. The slender figure of the chair is amazingly sturdy due to the wooden cross stretcher that connects the two outer parts. These are also connected to each other by means of a mortise and tenon connection. As an extra reinforcement, the legs at the bottom are also reinforced with a black iron spindle...
