Fine 19th century late Gustavian sofa inspired by the Roman Empire and ancient Egypt. The sofa has its original padding left and is in original color with faux oxidized copper painted to the carvings, lion heads and female heads on the armrests. circa 1800, Stockholm Sweden.

Attributed to Stockholm master Ephraim Stahl (1767-1820). Supplier to the Royal Court and one of the most sophisticated and inventive makers of his period.
