About the Item

Beautiful and very elegant Danish 1940s curved "sofa raised on a beech frame and legs. These type of sofas was manufactured from the 30's and up through the early 50's and the Danes knew fondly called them "banana sofas" . These increasingly sought after late deco period designed sofas have a great presence about them with alluring low swung very organic lines. Solid construction with springs in the seat and the backrest for support and cushioning. The sofa was re-upholstered at a later point in a green mohair. The seat however, was of a different fabric and in need of a total refurbishment. We loved the backrest detail and color and as that was still in clean and usable condition, we decided to just refurbish and reupholster the seat and in a beige 100% lambswool. The result is a super charming piece with a strong presence to anchor any room. Very sturdy and comfortable. We are able to offer re-upholstery services for this sofa and are able to re-upholster in any material that you may prefer at a very competitive cost.
