Danish Banana Form Curved Sofa or Loveseat Early 1950s

About the Item

Beautiful and very elegant 1940s curved two-seat sofa from the 1940s. Often called banana sofas by the Danes due to the curved shape. This sofa has slightly more straight backrest and the brass capped taller legs indicate a production date closer to 1950 when taller legs became more popular. The sofa has springs in the seat and the backrest and the cushions are nice and firm and the sofa very sturdy. These increasingly sought after late deco period inspired sofas are great anchor pieces for the living room with alluring low swung very organic lines. And great for the bedroom of course. Overall very good condition while the original is showing wear but is in still usable condition. but needs to be reupholstered. We are able to offer re-upholstery services for this sofa and are able to re-upholster in shearling or lambswool at very competitive prices.
