Danish Midcentury 1940s Sofa or Settee with Open Armrests by Alfred Christensen

About the Item

Fantastic 1940s Alfred Christensen designed sofa in his characteristic style of open armrests carved from solid beech wood and made by Slagelse Mobelvaerk in the 1940s. Beautiful refined lines with curving arms that extend into the front leg. Coil springs in the seat and backrest. Just the right amount of wear and patina to the lacquer and stain mainly on the armrests that we have gently restored. Wool fabric and padding is showing wear and needs to be replaced. Overall very good condition. We offer re-upholstery services on this sofa at very competitive prices and can recover in lambswool and shearling.
