About the Item

Jonathan De Pas, Donato D'Urbino, Paolo Lomazzi "Ipercubo 200" modular sofa for Driade, original Cognac leather, Italy, 1970s, set of five. The most peculiar feature of the “Ipercubo” modular sofa is the central, explicit cut in the middle that invites you to sink into its curves. The geometric lines combined with the cozy shape and the material used create a warm feeling to this piece. This section sofa is presented with its original Cognac leather, showing a fantastic patina. Jonathan De Pas (1932-1991), Donato D’Urbino (1935), and Paolo Lomazzi (1936) are three Italian designers who, united under the initials DDL, have worked in the industrial design sector since 1966. This is a three-voice professional personality of great importance for Italian design; the three designers have collaborated with the largest companies in the furniture sector. In 1979 they won the Compasso d’Oro award for their project “Sciangai”. Our atelier carefully checked the sofa. All the signs and imperfections on the surface are natural leather features, enhancing the material's natural beauty.

By De Sede, Ubald Klug
Located in Lonigo, Veneto
Ubald Klug DS-1025 "Terrazza" sofa for De Sede, leather, Switzerland, 1974. Ubald Klug designed this rare modular DS-1025 "Terrazza" sofa as a real living landscape. The "Terrazza" was recreated thanks to the De Sede manufacturer and its ability to transform high-quality leather into seating furniture. This multi-layered upholstered relief invites people to sit or lie down, combining durability and comfort with a unique design. After training at the Art and Design College in Zurich, Ulbald Klug (1932) gained further experience in architectural practices in Zurich and Helsinki. Paris has been his sphere of activity since 1966, when he founded his architecture and interior design bureau. Klug proved himself successful at finding solutions to different challenges and developed non-conformist solutions - from furniture design, to concepts for urban installations, to architectural prototypes...
