Pair of 20th Century Tribal Carved Nupe Stools Nigeria Tribal Tables

About the Item

Pair of wonderful 20th century Nupe tribal stools. Each stool is made from one solid piece of timber, signs of ad marks to the underside and legs from shaping the tables, with very good carving to the tops, 8 shaped legs. Originates from Nigeria, often referred to as "elephant" tables and were originally a present from a groom to his bride on their wedding day. The carving to the tops is a very good quality and the tops have a wonderful rich colour with good patination all over. A wonderful pair, very nicely patinated all over. Measurements: 44cm x 40cm x 39cm tall 43cm x 39.5cm x 39cm tall ST1653
