About the Item

A late 17thC boarded chest. Constructed from six fine grained wide walnut planks. The sides are dovetailed, with iron carrying handles and original warded lock with a simply decorated forged iron lock plate. The hasp is missing and the iron hinges for the lid are later replacements. Likely German or Swiss C.1680-1700 H 62.5cm W 129cm D 54cm
