Central European Painted Blanket Chest
About the Item
Central European painted blanket chest, the top has a nice warm patina with remnants of the original paint which is typical for these chests, sides have grain painting and retain the original steel carrying handles, the front features varying shades of teal and green on which are painted stylized flowers and foliate, dated '1886', original steel escutcheon. The interior has the original candle box and lid. The chest is dovetailed on all corners and rests on bracket feet.
