19th Century European Hand Painted Blanket Chest
About the Item
19th C. paint decorated blanket box or coffer. The front panel has a later added decoupage which has since been partially lost. This antique trunk, with its rectangular-shaped body, features original hand painted decorations about the top front sides in a geometric architectural motif and original iron hardware. Although showing wear and distress but instead adding to the character of this antique piece and does not interfere with its form or function. This 19th century hand painted wood coffer will be a great piece with functional storage, perfect for storing blankets in a guest bedroom or family room space, or work as a stool or bench at the foot of a bed.
