About the Item

We have been selling these kinds of bookcases for over 40 years, and this might be the best we have ever offered. Most of these are very standard looking and are 34” in width. Once in a while we get what is called a 3/4 size, where the width is 26''. Well, this is an example of a rarer size. This is a double wide, so you get twice as many shelf areas, and add to that the beautiful inlaid wood lines, and that is what we have here. It is really a knockout in person. The condition is amazing. No damage to the inlaid wood and the finish is so clean and crisp that it looks like it was covered up for 100 years and never used. The doors just lift up and slide back so you don't have to hassle with big doors that you would expect on a 52'' wide bookcase. For those who know what these lawyer bookcases usually look like, I ask you to question where you have ever seen one this unusual and beautiful. For those of you who are not familiar with this bookcase I suggest you check around and you will understand what a special one we are offering here. We should also mention that all the glass is original and has that nice antique wavy look. We consider that a very important element. We should mention that these bookcases easily come apart for moving. Each level can be lifted off, as does the top and bottom. Doesn’t worry, while assembled you would never know that it can be disassembled. It is very sturdy and there is no movement where the separation is located. It is as stable as if it were all one unit.

Condition:
One of the knobs has a split, and is pictured. It is together and in one piece. We don't believe it will be a problem. It is wood and can always be put back together if anything happens. Other than that it was hard to find any other flaws.
