Rare Piece of Progressive Arts and Crafts Furniture, Bookcase

About the Item

A Rare Piece of Progressive Arts and Crafts furniture, in golden oak and stained glass This Large Bookcase has a remarkable and stylish design, typical of the late Victorian era associated with the Arts and Crafts movement. It is inspired in every detail from the Brass covered plinth at the floor to the stained glass panels on each door The bookcase has two large shelved cupboards each with 2 full length doors The doors have bevelled glass panels set in brass at the top, beneath these There are arch shaped panels in stained and leaded glass and below these another large bevelled panel which has blue velvet behind making the glass look blue This is a heavy piece, however the doors can be removed to help with transportation, it is in good condition for its age, there is little damage to the stained glass, but it is all stable and shows no signs of movement The Cupboards 71” tall, 65” wide and 18” deep CC73.
