Antique French Louis XVI Marble Top Burl Wood Buffet
About the Item
Antique French Louis XVI Marble Top Burl Wood Buffet is an elegant expression of the neoclassical form, rendered in exquisitely veined contoured and beveled marble, exotic and rare burl woods and cast bronze to create an unmistakable impression in any room. The rounded side design ensures there are no protruding corners into the traffic flow of the room, so although it measures a total of six feet wide, its impact is that of a considerably smaller piece. Regardless, with the large center storage area and two convenient storage compartments on each side behind curved doors, it still stores plenty of your cherished possessions and heirlooms. The top tier consists of a single drawer outlined in burl inlay and fitted with a cast foliate style pull. Wreath style ring pulls appear on the outer rounded side panels. Two columns with bronze Corinthian capitals and pediments flank the center door in a step-front architecture which adds even more visual appeal. Each of the three cabinet doors are inlaid with a fine bordering to enhance the burl veneering, and fitted with cast bronze key guards. Four urn-form legs with brass tips provide support.
