About the Item

A striking French 19th century Louis XVI st. burl Walnut, ormolu, Sarrancolin and Brèche marble buffet. The two door two drawer buffet is raised by elegant stout circular fluted feet with fine foliate fitted mottled sabots below impressive and most decorative Sarrancolin marble columns with exquisite plinths and Corinthian capitals flanking the doors. The doors display a superb wonderfully detailed inlaid urn with lovely Rinceau scrolls and charming swan handles with beautiful draped laurel garlands set on the stunning quarter veneered burl Walnut background. Above each column are richly chased urns with charming blooming flowers flanking the drawers each decorated with berried laurel ormolu pulls and charming tied ribbon designs. The curved sides also display a remarkable quarter veneered design showcasing the exceptional wood grain. Above is the original beautiful Brèche marble top.
