About the Item

Standing at an impressive 106 inches in height, this eighteenth century French Regency period buffet deux corps from a chateau in Liege, Belgium features hand carved details of an asymmetrical scalloped cartouche at the crown and scrolling leaves and flowers. Constructed with hand pegged paneled sides, the lower cabinet has two symmetrical paneled doors that open to reveal an interior with a single shelf and two dovetailed drawers. The upper cabinet is fitted with two glass doors behind which are two curved shelves with a beveled front edge. Painted in its original pale blue-grey with white trim and with a patina that only comes with age, this piece is sure to make a statement. Includes two keys. c. 1750.
