About the Item

from Kanto area, Japan. This large wooden glass cabinet is a product of 1910s - 20s (Taisho period) estimate from the style, conditions. The antique wavy glasses remains in sliding doors (see pictures), and the original Urushi lacquer remains, partly fade by age. Also there're the signs of attached papers like the silhouettes, giving a taste of wabi sabi, which are bringing us to the era that is originally used. Made of premium quality Sugi cedar close to the heartwood, it's still durable enough for actual use. The sliding doors & drawers open & close smoothly. Additionally, the shelf (board) made of vintage matching wood can be attached for extra $100. Feel free to ask me if you'd like to add. *** We're eco-friendly, organic-oriented vintage wood furniture & fitting seller. Avoiding the harsh chemicals as much as possible, using organic & traditional materials in the whole process, especially cleaning, repaint / refinish. - using non-toxic, eco-friendly method when cleaning & repairing the item - using organic & traditional materials (beeswax, linseed oil, urushi lacquer, persimmon tannin, burnt pine ink, etc) for repainted/re-finished items - repairing the necessary parts for long-lasting use
