About the Item
This elegant Chinese-style drink cabinet from the 1950s offers a beautiful blend of traditional craftsmanship and mid-century design. Original deep red painted wood, the cabinet is adorned with intricate gold detailing that highlights its elegant form. The top of the cabinet holds a black glass. The front features two hinged doors, each embellished with elaborately carved panels depicting traditional Chinese scenes with figures and architectural elements. Below these panels are smaller square insets showcasing further detailed carvings, surrounded by stylised floral or foliate motifs in gold. A classic geometric fretwork pattern runs along the bottom of the doors and the top of the cabinet, adding a touch of timeless elegance.
Opening the doors reveals a mirrored interior equipped with lighting and two shelves, providing ample space for storing bottles and glassware. The mirrored back enhances the display, reflecting light and adding a sense of depth. The cabinet rests on a sturdy base with elegantly curved legs, also accented with gold trim. The cabinet holds a mirrored pull tray at the bottom for ease of serving drinks. The cabinet shows signs of wear, and it is in good condition overall.
