Glass Showcase, Storage shelves, Japanese Antiques, Wabi Sabi, Japandi
About the Item
We have completed a special showcase that represents the best of ICCA's craftsmanship.
The main material is chestnut, which has beautiful grain and durability.
It was disassembled into all parts, and each part was carefully arranged, while the design was reconstructed from scratch.
The chamfering on the frame is a traditional Japanese "double-string chamfering".
The rare design of applying it twice accentuates the contours and gives the whole piece a neat impression.
The top support wheels are fitted with the finest decorative parts that ICCA has carefully stored.
It harmonizes beautifully with the beautifully arranged frame, creating a modest yet elegant appearance.
The interior shelves are made of lavish solid ash with beautiful burl grain.
By using this high-quality material, which would normally be sliced into a surface material as veneer, in its pure form, the shelves themselves are the highlight of this piece of furniture.
The glass is made of wavy glass from the Taisho period.
The piece changes appearance depending on the angle of the light and the brightness of the room, and every time you look at it, you will discover something new.
The handles and hinges are the highest quality from ICCA's stock.
No compromise was made on even the smallest details.
The height is an imposing 180cm.
However, the depth is kept low so it doesn't feel oppressive and blends seamlessly into the space.
The back panel is a reused piece that was once used as a door.
The texture of the wood that has aged over time adds even more depth to this piece of furniture.
This is a masterpiece that goes beyond the framework of "furniture" and deserves to be called a work of art in its own right.
We hope you will welcome it into your home as a long-lasting companion.
Our craftsmen have carefully repaired it and brought it back to life as furniture to be passed on to the next generation.
*This is an antique in good condition, but there are small scratches and slight distortions other than those shown in the detailed images.
