Important Antique Museum Quality Equestrian Leather Clad Painted Chest on Stand

About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this extremely important, museum quality, hand painted leather clad trunk on stand depicting rural scenes with horses Where to begin, firstly I don’t want to sell this, it is without a doubt the most stunning chest on stand in the world, it belongs in its own exhibition with people cuing to see it. It is a mid Victorian leather clad trunk on a William & Mary style base, the painting is very period and would have been the highlight of a study or library Condition wise, we have lightly cleaned waxed and polished it, there paint has nicely aged as you can see, there will be good honest patination all over Dimensions Height:- 80.5cm / 31.7 inches Width:- 85cm / 33.5 inches Depth:- 41.5cm / 16.5 inches Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
