Philadelphia Centennial Mahogany Chest on Stand with Ball and Claw Feet

About the Item

Well carved chest on stand with gadrooned top edge of chest and gadrooned edge of plinth base, circa 1870. Plinth base has a carved shell in center of apron with Queen Ann legs that have cared knees and well articulated ball and claw feet. The hardware is hand forged iron including exterior hasp hinges, key plate and handles on the sides of the chest. The front of the chest folds down to reveal interior cabinet with 1 shelf.
