About the Item

This diminutive oak sideboard has been carved in the Brutalist style with tones of the Gothic variety. With a design not unfamiliar to the famous Henry Kjaernulf, this piece has intricate carvings on the front door and legs, making it a work of art as well as a useful storage case piece. The front door panel exhibits a floral design, which are echoed in the clover shape of the iron fittings around the locks on the drawer and cabinet door. The legs have carved decoration as well, in a wavy pattern that compliments the floral design nicely. Inside the cabinet is one shelf and a suitable amount of space for storage. The piece appears to have had slots for a second shelf that have since been removed. The cabinet shows minor signs of wear with some areas of sun fading, and areas of discoloration inside, all consistent with its age and regular use. The cabinet itself is quite sturdy and holds all the charm of a beautiful, vintage piece. Key included.
