About the Item

A Pair of Early Victorian Rosewood Side Cabinets by the esteemed firm Johnstone & Jeanes, dating back to the era of 1840. Originating in London, Johnstone & Jeanes became synonymous with unparalleled quality and refined taste during the 19th century. The company's legacy is marked by its prestigious address on New Bond Street, London, where they crafted exquisite furniture that adorned the homes of the elite. These side cabinets, showcasing the mastery of the renowned cabinetmakers, were created with precision and elegance. Known for their commitment to exquisite detailing and innovative designs. The leaf-carved edge and mirrored doors with leaf-carved corbels on these cabinets are a testament to the distinctive style that defined their work. These pieces feature one shelf on the inside of both cabinets. Finished with pink breche marble tops, these pieces have been meticulously crafted, reflecting the opulence associated with the Victorian era. A stamped inscription 'Johnstone & Jeanes New Bond St. London' on one of the doors adds historical authenticity, linking these cabinets to the grandeur of London's luxury furniture scene during the 19th century.
