Unusual Art Deco Macassar Cabinet with Glass Doors

About the Item

Found in France, this Art Deco macassar cabinet dates from the 1930s. Center section of cabinet has four fixed internal shelves. Door handle features bone overlay and the top of the door features decorative bone inlay and bone-trimmed escutcheons. Surface of the center cabinet door has a rippled pattern which enhances the macassar figuring. Functional lock and key. The side cabinets feature doors with glass fronts, bone-trimmed escutcheons and functional locks and inside are three adjustable shelves. The top of the cabinet has a decorative trim of what appears to be lacquered capiz shells. Unusual and stunning French Art Deco cabinet. Unknown maker.
