Italian Art Deco Ebonised Chest with Gilt Work Design
About the Item
Found in Italy, this unusual Art Deco era cabinet dates from the 1940s. Top, sides and base of cabinet are ebonised and the front has a unique, foil-like gilt and ebony design. The cabinet features two locking side cabinets with hinged doors and a single, internal fixed shelf on each side. The center section has an open storage area with three functional drawers below. Original open work brass pulls. Legs are a curvy U-shape with an ebonised finish. Unknown maker. 1 key included.
Very good overall vintage condition with minor scattered surface wear to finish.
