Rare Art Deco Chest of Drawers / Filing Cabinet with Stunning Coromandel Handles

About the Item

Beautifully designed AND executed, Dutch Art Deco chest with stunning drawers and handles. Having been antique furniture sellers for the first half of our antique selling careers, we immediately recognized this rare and striking chest of drawers. We have seen one before and we are fairly convinced that this here striking chest of drawers is that same one. We remember it being made by one of the more famous Dutch furniture designers/architects, but we don't remember his name. The reason why we are convinced that this is a 'one of a kind', is because this cabinet was initially made to hold a very expensive and extensive Art Deco cutlery set (probably silver). As you can see in our photos, five drawers still have the original velvet interior with the forms for keeping the cutlery. Our price for this Art Deco chest does not only include perfect packing and free and fast shipping (in a custom made crate), but we will also have our restorers remove the velvet interiors / 'molds' of these drawers so that this pure Art Deco chest can be used for all kinds of other / more practical purposes. In this unique Art Deco chest one could keep a collection of drawings, paintings, magazines, swords, medals etc. and especially with a unique work of art displayed on top, this aesthetically marvelous chest will be the perfect style-upgrade. The overal design will never fail to impress, but the perfect coromandel handles on the stylish drawers, to us, really take this chest to the next level. The combination of their design, their patina, their natural color and woodgrain AND their condition, make these handles the best we have ever seen. Fortunately this striking cabinet has always been in the hands of people who appreciated its rarity, quality and beauty, because apart from some minor wear this piece also is in very good condition. The largest drawer comes with the original and perfect working lock and key and this cabinet is literally and figuratively lifted up by the ebonized (or blackened) plinth at the base. If you already have a place in mind for it then this rare, practical and highly stylish, Art Deco chest could be flying your way soon. Mind you, our price even includes perfect packing (in a custom made crate), worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 to 6 days and our restorers (upon your request and at no extra charge) will remove the 'cutlery molds' so that you can use this chest for whatever purpose you like. Maximum height x width x depth: 38.8 x 29.7 x 20 inches. Width x depth x height of the inside of the 5 flatter drawers: 23 x 14.8 x 2 inches. Width x depth x height of the inside of the larger drawer: 23 x 14.8 x 3.75 inches. We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish yet practical and for craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again). You can shop all our 1000+ listings by pushing the button that reads 'View All From Seller'.
