An amazing Art Deco Depression era maid saver kitchen cabinet with beautifully aged patina, extras, and a ton of different use possibilities! Crafted in the late 1920s / early 1930s, this unique all-in-one cupboard features a beautifully simple utilitarian design, very cool, a little unusual, and completely original, this retro cabinet is good looking, well made and decorative, featuring a solid wood case, fitted with numerous doors, drawers, shelves, and compartments, it's perfect for storage and display, providing generous storage space for all your baking goods, pies, spices and other pantry necessities. Solid oak construction, bronze hardware, having nine compartments, including a pair of etched glass doors, and a fall-front panel that creates a work surface for food prep (or a writing desk - mixed drinks cocktail station) It even includes an original Kitchenalia "Daily Wants" shopping list planner mounted to the interior door. Created by the Good Housekeeping Institute in the early 20th century, it uses tabs to to help create your weekly shopping list. Whether you use it as a kitchen pantry / larder, dry bar liquor cabinet, bedroom armoire, buffet, kids room work station (with desk), as a wabi-sabi bookcase to organize your cookbooks, or simply somewhere to hide all your odds and ends, this interesting piece is sure to be a conversation starter while also becoming the focal point of any room! PROVENANCE / ACQUISITION: Acquired from the highly reputable Dallas Auction Gallery, Dallas, Texas. Owned and curated by Reyne Hirsch, a media personality and expert in 20th century decorative arts. She's was a top appraiser for Antiques Roadshow on PBS for 13 years, as well as a leading contributer to the Huffington Post, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Architectural Digest, amongst other publications. She's also founded highly regarded art galleries and exhibits throughout the United States. Dimensions: (approx) 72" Tall, 44" Wide, 15" Deep Condition: Good original antique / vintage condition.
