About the Item

English serpentine side chest made from mahogany, circa 1950. The top is banded in mahogany and has a central panel of flame mahogany with a beveled and serpentined edge, following down to a mahogany slide and four drawers, flanked by fluted quarter columns. The drawer fronts are all banded as well as having beading around the edges. The sides of the chest are simple and have wonderfully rich graining and the case is supported on nicely detailed bracket feet. The slide measures 24.13 x 10.5.
