About the Item

A French carved wood commode, with its original elaborate brass hardware, from the 19th century. This smaller-sized antique chest from France has a rectangular-shaped top, with softly rounded front corners, over a case which houses three full-sized drawers flanked within rounded front side posts. Each of the drawers are fitted with their original Rococo style brass hardware (which is quite lovely!) consisting of a pair of beautifully decorated pulls with escutcheon set at center. The far sides each have a raised panel design, the apron is nicely carved with scalloped details about three sides and has a shell at front center. The chest is presented upon four petite cabriole legs with hoofed feet. There is a custom washed finish with darker grey accent trim. This 19th century French commode, just shy of 3 feet in width, has such cute proportions, making it the perfect problem solver case-piece for many uses throughout your home!
