About the Item
Architects Karla Vázquez from KV and Caterina Moretti from Peca collaborated to create The Aurum Credenza, which is a sculptural work and unique piece that aim to open honest dialogues about the objects closest to us.
Each piece was meticulously crafted using traditional artisan techniques, the talent of master craftspeople, and excellent materials. Quality materials are fundamental to the creation of this collection. Wood holds a tree’s history in its unique and irreplicable rings, much like fingerprints.
The boxes and credenza are created through a delicate process that uses the traditional technique of 23-karat gold plating and the assembly of “tiny architectures,” They are meant to hold memories and tell the story of their owners’ intuitions, desires, and obsessions. The form and finish of the pieces
lend a golden materiality that transforms any environment into a spectacle of
light and shadows — a composition that evokes the sun’s beauty.
