Fine Quality walnut Sideboard Attributed to Mario Quarti

About the Item

Sideboard in walnut with original green glass top and sculptural bronze handles atributed to the famous designer Mario Quarti. The cabinet has six doors with reeded design which open onto an interior comprising shaped shelves. This is believed to be a unique piece made to commission. Provenance: private residence Como Mario Quarti (1901-1974) was the son of the important Italian cabinet maker Eugenio Quarti who was a very successful furniture designer originally specializing in Art Nouveau and then later using his fine craftsmanship, to produce exceptional furniture in the Art Deco style. After his father's death, Mario took over the family business, adapting to larger scale production for his varied and rich clientele.
