About the Item
A fine & long Mid-Century Modern Danish Style Teak Credenza by G Plan, from the "Fresco" range, 1966.
The credenza having a central bank of four graduated drawers flanked by cupboards with two doors to either side. The credenza is raised on a 'floating' stretcher below with elegant tapered legs. The credenza is signed to the inside of the door with G Plan's eponymous red decal with a capital letter G to the center. The credenza is made from teak and has very stylish ergonomic curved handles made from afromosia wood, this handle was specific to the Fresco range only. There were two credenzas with floating stretchers in the Fresco range, one was 60" long, this is the longer 84" credenza. Condition is excellent throughout, the credenzas finish has just been lovingly refreshed in Bloomsbury's professional workshops, this very stylish MCM credenza is ready to grace your space.
Introduced back in 1966 and designed by V.B. Wilkins, the Fresco range grew to become the G Plan’s wildest success. To create the Fresco design classics, G Plan used the omnipresent motif of the circle to marry the trendy sculptural look characteristic for Italian furniture with already famous Scandinavian style teak.

An original & iconic Mid-Century Modern credenza / wall unit model # C8506, designed by Paul Mc Cobb "The Irwin Collection" for Calvin Furniture, 1952. Condition is excellent!
A very rare twin section walnut brass & leather cabinet designed by Paul Mc Cobb, the top having brass dividers/supports with two moveable modular units one with four drawers the other with twin cupboard doors. This model is very rare, possibly a commission piece with leather fronts to the doors, most of the C8506 models had plain wood or doors with caning. The cabinet is also fitted with two original smoked glass shelves, the cabinet is fitted with a brass tag to one of the drawers "Calvin Grand Rapids The Irwin Collection designed by Paul Mc Cobb".
The base with corresponding brass legs to the front & rear, the cabinet with four 'concertina' doors fitted with the original Oxblood color leather and enclosing a fitted interior. Condition is very good indeed, the cabinet having been recently professionally restored in Bloomsbury's workshop. Provenance, the cabinet belonged to a prominent local architect and was acquired from new.
