Pair of Contemporary Exotic Wood Shoe Cabinets with Marble Top, Brass Detail
About the Item
A pair of shoe storage cabinets, handcrafted by acclaimed London-based furniture makers Kaizen London in 2014. Designed as part of a commission for a formal entrance hall, these substantial credenza-style cabinets combine architectural geometry with exceptional materials and precision craftsmanship.
Each cabinet features four doors and two concealed drawers, with interiors fitted for organised shoe storage. The exteriors are finished in a figured Tanganyika wood veneer, tinted in a soft oyster grey and sealed with a clear lacquer to enhance the natural patterning. The structure is defined by bold chamfered edges inspired by emerald-cut stones, with each junction highlighted by delicate Almond gold–plated brass filet inlays.
Topping each piece is a beautifully executed panel of white Wenge stone marble, inlaid with a geometric brass motif that echoes the faceted lines of the cabinetry. Interiors are finished in walnut, with drawers lined in suede, reflecting the makers' attention to detail and commitment to fine craftsmanship.

Condition: Good overall. Three veneer repairs are visible: one at the top left corner, one at the top right front edge, and one at the lower right base. These are sympathetic and stable. All other elements, including marble tops, brass detailing, and interiors, remain in good condition.
