About the Item

On offer here is a beautiful antique Welsh housekeeper's cupboard that was made in the second half of the 18th century. The cupboard or cabinet was made of European summer oak and has a warm brown color, with deep gloss. The top section has a moulded cornice rising over double-arched elevated panel doors. The doors open to reveal a spacious interior with three fixed shelves. The interior space continues into the lower section from the top, rather than being two separate areas. The lower section is decorated with an arched panelled front over three drawers from front to back. The cupboard is fitted with authentic brass keyplates and knobs. All three drawers have authentic working locks with keys. The piece has a warm brown color, deep gloss, and a rich patina built up over many years. The cabinet lends itself perfectly for a TV conversion to accommodate a large TV of a maximum of 43 inches wide. The conversion can be done by our skilled craftsmen as a service by request.
