Antique Federal Drop Front Tambour Desk

Antique federal drop front tambour desk, 19th century, mahogany and burled wood drawer fronts with string inlays. The top frame with two short drawers on either side of a small drawer with escutcheon (lacking a key). The mahogany tambour doors opening to cubby holes and drawers, flanking a centre door with a mahogany cubby hole and drawer inside. The drop front with a tooled leather writing surface over three graduated long drawers with finely cast brass pulls and escutcheons (lacking a key). Raised on square tapering legs. Condition: Expected wear and signs of use including some sun damage top left, some veneer cracks to the slant front when open on the right, one loose escutcheon, stains to cubby holes.
