We are delighted to offer for sale this absolutely stunning, exhibition / museum quality, hand carved Italian davenport desk A truly stunning and well made piece, this would have been made for an exhibition to show off the cabinet makers skill, I have a wardrobe (stamped) which was retailed by Pauly CIE Et and hand carved by the genius that was Moses Michelangelo Guggenheim 1837-1910, this Davenport desk is of the same quality especially the lions and the drop front panel, the wardrobe is currently retailing for £250,000 and a suite of five pieces is for sale in Italy for a cool 1,000,000 euros This really is a piece of art furniture in every sense, it looks important and expensive from every angle, you will be hard pressed to find and more elaborate piece anywhere in the world today The condition is excellent, we have deep cleaned hand condition waxed and hand polished it from top to bottom, there will be age and use related patina marks here and there but nothing to note, it honestly look amazing Dimensions Height:- 127cm Width:- 115cm Depth:- 54.5cm Knee height:- 61.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point. This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses. Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
