Presenting an exquisite Victorian Burr and Figured Walnut Davenport Writing Table Desk dating back to approximately 1870. This charming piece exudes age and character, making it a rare and sought-after find for antique enthusiasts. Featuring period concealed wooden castors, this davenport stands on sturdy support while maintaining its authenticity with four active drawers on the RHS (mahogany lined and sliding freely) and four dummy drawers on the LHS. Rest assured, there are no loose joints or woodworm issues. The piece's lovely patina and color add to its appeal, promising to enhance any space it graces. Measuring at an overall maximum of 56cmW x 57cmD x 85cmH this davenport offers both functionality and aesthetic appeal. Though in very good antique condition, it bears minor historic imperfections such as knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, and wear consistent with its age and use. Please note, there are no keys and locks are consequently untested. One concealed castor replaced with a period brass equivalent. Stock No. 8523.
