Just in, this French Louis XV Slope Desk "Bureau De Pente" ,in natural Yellow Birch, . This French Provençal desk, also called Secretaire Abattant or fall front desk, is from the Louis XV period, the wood has the original natural color.. This is a quite unusual desk as it can float in a room versus staying against the wall as the back is finished like the two sides which allows this desk to be in the center of a room. The fold out secretary is very functional. This very elegant writing desk is crafted from solid walnut, it stands on four cabriole legs and are adorned with bronze details. The lower part of the desk has two drawers at each sides. When the top folds down it reveals a large writing space with a well worn tooled leather. There are six small drawers with a central niche and a secret compartment . Please view all large and close-up photos for these details. Original rich patina for this “Secretaire Abattant” It is in is in excellent Antique condition consistent with age and use.
