Swiss Bankers / Rent or Merchant Table, 18th C. and Later

About the Item

A Swiss bankers or rent table, in Elmwood with a superb slate inset into top. Underneath the top is a rather large drawer which slides both ways. This was used to slide money from the banker to his client. Monies were not laid on top of the table for security. The drawer is decorated with initials of the Banker.
