Paul McCobb "20-Drawer" Maple Dresser With Iron Base for Winchendon, 1950s

About the Item

A large and highly practical 20-Drawer "Planner Group" dresser by Paul McCobb for the Winchendon Furniture Company, made in Massachusetts in the 1950s. A lovely example in solid maple with a lacquered steel four-leg base and original black T-pulls. This incredibly solid piece has been gently refinished to its former glory. The maple is smooth and soft to the touch with beautiful grain detail. All of the drawers open and close smoothly. The cone all show lovely cosmetic patina. The thin black lacquered steel base creates a wonderful contrast against the profound case, allowing the 20 drawers to almost float in the space. This piece is in wonderful restored vintage condition, ready to be placed in a high end interior project.
