A French Art Deco Bar Cabinet With Mirrored Interior
About the Item
This elegant semi-circular bar cabinet, which is clad on the outside with book-matched walnut burl veneer, rests on a base clad in patinated brass. The finish is silky and smooth French polish. The top veneers are of a pie-wedge design radiating from the center rear. All exterior surfaces have a rich nut-brown color. Turning the solid brass key to open the doors, the cabinet is divided into two and practical shelves are revealed on the back of the doors and on the inside of the cabinet. The back wall is mirrored, and all the interior surfaces are light-stained birch wood to better accentuate bottles, crystal glassware, and silver utensils. For additional protection, the piece can be fitted with a glass top. This is a unique and eye-catching piece of furniture, which is actually quite easy to place as it is not overly large. The recessed brass plinth at the bottom can be polished or allowed to patinate and darken over time.
