About the Item

A striking two-part cabinet from Värmland, Sweden, dating to the early 19th century, embodying the quiet elegance of the Gustavian period. This finely crafted piece showcases classic neoclassical proportions with clean geometric door panels, fluted sides, and understated crown molding. Repainted in a layered, distressed black finish, the surface reveals warm glimpses of the original wood beneath, offering a beautifully textured patina that speaks to its age and authenticity. The upper cabinet opens to reveal a charming natural pine interior, complete with fixed shelving and an array of small interior drawers, perfect for storing documents, linens, or tableware. The lower portion consists of three full-width drawers, retaining their original brass hardware and offering generous storage. With its sculptural presence and utilitarian design, this cabinet serves equally well in a dining room, library, or entry hall. It’s a refined piece that bridges historical charm and modern simplicity with grace and presence. Crown: 44"W
