About the Item
A fine 18th century Dutch Rococo walnut inlaid marquetry bombe shaped desk, circa 1780.
The desk top is inlaid with a satinwood panel and having corresponding panels to the sides, the desk is of bombe shape and has a fall front that is finely inlaid with a floral marquetry panel framed with an ebony & fruitwood border. The locking fall front (key present) has an inset red baize writing surface and is supported by a pair of pull out lopers, the interior is fitted with ten drawers & a central pigeon hole,
the desk has a secret storage area with a sliding door.
The base having three graduated drawers with the original brass rococo handles and lock-plates, the desk is raised on shaped bracket feet. The desk is in very good antique condition and is ready to grace your home or office.
When the writing surface is open the desk is 32" deep.
