About the Item

Louis Seize secretary featuring five drawers and a flat writing flap. Veneered with cherry wood, this secretary is adorned with fire-shaded inlays. The central motif of the laurel wreath with an urn on the front is elegantly continued on the sides. Standing on square legs, it is topped by a three-sided gallery with suggested arcades, and fire-gilt bronze fittings harmoniously complete the overall look. The interior comprises seven drawers and a mirrored tabernacle compartment surrounded by a curved arch with pilasters. The bottom drawer can be pulled out, and the front can be opened to reveal a deep writing compartment. This secretary has been meticulously restored and hand-polished.
