Majestic Blue painted Rococo Bureau / Secretary

About the Item

A Rococo secretary desk with a cabinet or bookcase top, beautifully painted in blue with a black-painted interior. This piece consists of two sections: Upper section consists of a cabinet with a swan-neck pediment. The cabinet features a pair of doors with elegant profiled panels, gently curved to follow the swan-neck design. Inside, you'll find a black-painted interior with shelves, perfect for books or display items. Lower section: The desk includes three drawers with a slightly convex front, fitted with original locks and brass fittings. Above the drawers is a slanted writing flap that opens to reveal a black-painted interior with numerous small drawers. On the sides, there are three trapezoidal drawers flanked by four smaller drawers, with a pair of small central doors. The lower section also features side handles for ease of movement. The base apron is elegantly finished with Rococo-style carving, adding a refined touch. This desk showcases a beautiful color with a lovely patina, professionally restored by a conservator, making it both functional and decorative.
