Rare Antique Swedish Secretary Desk in Folk Art from Northern Sweden

About the Item

Rate antique Swedish secretary desk in folk art made around 1830 in northern Sweden. The secretary is made by hand with a frame in solid pine. The interior has multiple small drawers and a door in the centre – which has never had any hinges. The centre of the interior has been charmingly painted to look like the front of a very nice house, it is original and a very unusual decorative painting. The whole secretary is in original and untouched condition. The exterior has the original faux paint and original hardware. Because this is a genuine original furniture there are traces and marks along with distress and patina after 200 years of use. Healthy and solid frame. There are some traces of older repairs by both back legs – see pictures. Height to the desk top is 68 cm.
